UTC OXFORDSHIRE

Sam Knowlton, Executive Principal

welcome to UTC Oxfordshire

UTC Oxfordshire is a small University Technical College located in Didcot, Oxfordshire. Ofsted rated Good, the school specialises in engineering and science, alongside a focused and rich curriculum.

UTCs are STEM-focused secondary schools and sixth forms set up in partnership with local employers, who input into the curriculum to ensure students leave school work ready.

UTCs are designed to provide clear pathways for young people into academic study and technical careers. From day one, students are engaged in solving genuine problems using industry specialist equipment. This helps give them a head-start in their chosen careers.

Located in an area populated with science and technology companies, UTC Oxfordshire students have access to over 40 industry partners including locally based national and international organisations such as UK Atomic Energy Authority, RM Education and MINI Plant Oxford.

UTC Oxfordshire is proud to be part of ALET, on a mission to Transform Lives Through Learning.

Excellence in Science and

Engineering

UTC Oxfordshire’s aim is to become a world-class centre of excellence in science and engineering. Our students will be known for having the skills, knowledge and attributes employers are looking for.

Our links to employers is one of the main things that makes us as a UTC stand out from mainstream schools. As well as a robust, varied curriculum, our students benefit from the links we have with many local companies, large and small. These employers spend time with our students working on real-world projects, training them in employability skills, as well as soft skills such as teamwork and confidence, and supporting them to be work ready.

Becoming an employer partner needn’t be a big time commitment. To find out more, please visit our Employers page here.
